As part of an in-class assignment, students were tasked with creating a solution that could prevent dirt and salt during the wintertime from entering indoor environments to prevent corrosions on carpets and floors.

The steel wool would allow for the guest to drag their shoes across the surface to remove dirt and the rubber surface serves to keep the mat in place and avoid slippage.
